'Queer Portraits' accompanies the groundbreaking exhibition of artist Sarah Jane Moon’s large scale portraits of people who identify as LGBTQI+ or queer. As a publication, it brings together nearly 30 of the artist's most influential and admired portraits from over the last decade.

Sitters represented include performance artists Krishna Istha, Brian Lobel, Bird La Bird and Ursula Martinez, writers Julia Bell and Laura Bridgman, artists Roxana Halls and Sadie Lee, musician Planning To Rock, doctors Harriet Owen and Ronx Ikharia, lawyers Elaine Gwilt and Bernie Desmond, florists Derek Isaacs and Mark Siredzuk, and landscape designer Charlotte Harris among many others.

Moon’s portraits represent a cross section of contemporary queer LGBTQ+ life and love. Her subjects are often people close to her or whom she admires greatly for their commitment to live authentically and forge ahead in their chosen industry.

As well as beautifully reproduced images, the catalogue includes an essay by Birkbeck academic and writer Julia Bell titled 'A Queer Sitting'.
